China Good Design – registration possible from 8 April
Right on time for the exhibition “China Good Design: New Asian Moods and Award-Winning Products” at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, which is showing a selection of the award-winning products, the international competition “China Good Design” is about to enter its fourth round. Designers and manufacturers from all over the globe can enter their products from 8 April to 29 July. The registration period breaks down into three different phases, with the early bird phase ending on 16 May. After that date, participants can register their products at the regular rate until 6 July. Thereafter, latecomers can register by 29 July.
Designers from all over the world invited to take part
Designers and companies from all four corners of the globe with products manufactured using an industrial production process are invited to submit their designs to the independent competition, which has taken place since 2015. In addition, the products must have been brought to market within the past three years.
Independent assessment
Organised by Red Dot and implemented by the Xiamen Culture Media Group, the competition benefits from the many years of experience of the Red Dot Award, and is thus subject to the same strict evaluation criteria. The degree of innovation, product periphery, functionality, durability and ecological compatibility are just some of the aspects that the twelve jury members will take into consideration in the adjudication process. Only products that win over the jury with their good design quality will receive the distinction of “Gold Winner”, “Winner” or “Honourable Mention” after an intensive exchange.
Benefits for award winners
The laureates benefit from numerous communication measures that raise the visibility of the award-winning companies on both the Chinese and the international market: They can use the winners’ logo and will be featured in the China Good Design Yearbook and in the Online Presentation. Furthermore, all of the award-winning products are presented as part of the “Xiamen International Design Week – Red Dot in China”. The trade fair shows visitors from far and wide the present status of the international design scene and presents current developments in the industry.
Prize winners from the past three years in the Red Dot Design Museum
Those interested can see a selection of the award-winning works in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen from 3 May to 3 June 2018. From motorcycles and bicycles to tea-sets or smart home elements and interior design – visitors from around the world are invited to handle and try out the roughly 100 exhibits in the exhibition “China Good Design: New Asian Moods and Award-Winning Products”, because this is the only way to allow them to experience the good quality of the products and the cultural differences.
