What I Want Is Embrace Instead Of Violence
These posters raise awareness of the hardships experienced by victims of domestic violence. The backdrop is that many victims of physical or mental violence hide it, partially because of complicated family relationships and interests, out of concern that the public cannot provide them with the care or help they deserve. Most sociologists believe that the reason for domestic violence is that abusers want to control their victims. The poster motifs therefore suggest that this is like using ropes to tie victims up to restrict their freedom and make them feel pain. The two motifs visualise these sensations from the perspectives of victimised women and children.
