The challenge in designing the Snail Garden outdoor amusement facility located on the top of a hill was that the surroundings of the place were not child-friendly. The project proposes a new form of urban playground that is suitable for the hills and valleys of Busan, South Korea. The subtitle “Peak-nic” (Peak + picnic) denotes a picnic in the mountains. The snail series was inspired by origami and designed with a functional purpose. The six different sculpture-like items are suitable for both children and families, functioning as playground slides, climbing structures, exiting holes or benches.
