Slave of the Unreturn

This digital publication contains a collection of poems about African-American slavery during the American Civil War in the 19th century. With the aim of connecting the past and the present, the experience of reading poems is translated into a cinematic one by showing a trailer and contents like the credits of a film. The work comprises a brief historical summary, chronological timelines and poet biographies. In order to visualise the expression of the human voice, the font was designed to match the content and rhythm of each poem and the emotion expressed in it.
