PICTOBOT Industrial Autonomous Painting Robot
PICTOBOT is an AI-driven autonomous spray-painting robot designed for the construction industry, where manpower shortage and cost management are critical. Design Exchange started the project from a proof-of-concept functional prototype from Transforma's R&D team.
The designers began the process by identifying the operational pain points to address the critical UX issues downstream. Next, they explored different component configurations to optimise the ergonomics and footprint before defining the form factor of the robot for refinement. With major interaction touch points and product form factor established, the team worked on details to further improve alignment with operational and manufacturing requirements, leading to the final market-ready product.
To move forward into commercialisation, Design Exchange created a logotype to reinforce the product and brand identity. PICTOBOT is currently undergoing usability trials within the construction industry.
