Oktoberfest Bomb Attack Documentation

The Octoberfest attack in 1980 was one of the most horrific bomb attacks in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. For 234 people, the evening on 26th September ended in an act of brutal violence. The public installation brings the victims back to the scene of the event and touches the visitors emotionally. 234 figures stand alone or in groups at the scene of the event in seemingly random order and the visitors are immediately a part of this group. Information about the bomb attack, the survivors, the investigations, and the response of society to it are presented in images, texts, quotes, and digital media.
