“Nussbaum Unexpected” was an exhibition on the German painter Felix Nussbaum in the Museumsquartier Osnabrück, Germany. The exhibition’s design uses the fragmented, jagged and angular elements of the building to shed light on the playful, humorous and colourful side of Nussbaum. The use of colour, the lighting concept and the playful, hands-on models accentuate these aspects. The carefully coordinated design of all the elements ensures that the exhibition is easily accessible and the accompanying booklet in simple language takes care that people with learning and comprehension difficulties are not excluded.
