Gewinner des Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2018, geehrt bei der Preisverleihung in Singapur
NexLoop
The NEXLOOP system comprises a seamless knitted sensor glove that is soft, lightweight, sensitive, stretchable, and breathable. Capacitive sensors at finger joints and the wrist detect various hand gestures and movements. EMS at the fingertips delivers light electrical stimulation or feedback. Compared to other medical rehabilitation monitoring devices, NEXLOOP is nimble and cost-effective, potentially becoming a wearable tool usable in laboratory, clinical, and daily testing environments.
The sensor glove is designed as an innovative wearable device that enhances the rehabilitation experience through motion detection and therapeutic aid. Its portable and comfortable interactive glove provides daily real-time monitoring, long-term wear, and more effective rehabilitation. This innovation is significant for the future development of wearable devices.
NEXLOOP’s distinction lies not only in its technological features but also in its seamless fabrication process. Carefully crafted using an innovative computerised flat knitting method, the glove ensures a precise fit, comfort, customisation, and functionality crucial for healthcare and rehabilitation contexts. Customisation includes sensor and electrode placement, non-conductive textile materials, and colours. The seamless fabrication process is also zero-waste, offering a sustainable design approach for potential large-scale applications.
