HemoSystem
While traditional blood purification devices use non-specific dialysis filters or adsorber cartridges, the HemoSystem is based on a mixture of nanostructured magnetic beads that are each 300 times smaller than a red blood cell. The HemoBeads contain a magnetic core and a polymer coating that prevents unwanted interactions. They are equipped with specific binding agents that allow them to interact with only selected targets.
During treatment, patients are connected to the machine via a central catheter, and the blood is pumped through the HemoDevice. The HemoSorbent is continuously applied to the blood in the machine and binds to the disease-related compounds. Before the blood is returned to the patient, a magnetic filter efficiently removes beads and bound targets. This direct application of a mixture of different beads allows for the simultaneous removal of multiple disease-related compounds, which would not be achievable with drugs.
The corporate strategy of hemotune is firmly anchored in a patient- and user-friendly design with innovative solutions and the latest technologies. The system has a distinct identity and a product layout that is optimally designed to support product function and simplify user interactions. Aside from hardware design and usability engineering, the product graphics and UI design were also well-considered. Hemotune is currently preparing the clinical trial for the market approval of HemoSystem in sepsis.
