In creating the user interface design of the Gaggenau Product Family Series 200/400, strong emphasis was placed on striking a harmonious balance between physical haptics and concise graphics. The main functions are controlled through two rotary knobs, with a TFT touch display conveying the information. Secondary functions are only shown when needed and can be easily accessed via the touchscreen. Information is either magnified to draw the user’s attention or reduced in size in the background, thus graphically reflecting the rotary motion of the knobs. Individual operating steps are furthermore highlighted through the discreet use of colour.
