Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an extracorporeal technique for providing prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to people whose hearts and lungs are unable to provide adequate gas exchange or perfusion to sustain life. Because of its portability, operational convenience, and environmental adaptability, DEVOCEAN is a portable ECMO that will gradually become the mainstream application method of extracorporeal circulation technology. It is useful for out-of-hospital, intra-hospital transport, as well as in-hospital cardiopulmonary support and first aid.
DEVOCEAN is the world's lightest ECMO and offers a simple but fully integrated setup that includes priming techniques, a control host, screen, battery, and monitoring capability. These distinguishing features may provide significant advantages over more traditional or homemade ECMO circuits, particularly when patient transport is required.
