The German Film Museum in Frankfurt am Main presents a content-generated permanent exhibition spread out across 800 square metres on two floors. The exhibition units “Filmic Vision” and “Filmic Narrative” explain the history of moving
images and show the possibilities of present-day technology in an easy-to-grasp manner. Central elements are darkened spaces with spot-lit objects, analogous to a film being projected in a cinema. The design idiom on the first floor is reminiscent of film drums and tape, while the setting on the second floor is reminiscent of a film-maker’s studio.
