ARKHE Beauty Salon
The concept and realisation of this beauty salon centred on the theme of water to lend it a futurist appearance. Water is interpreted as the source of all creation and a medium that connotes clarity – as an analogy of a salon that also represents a search for the source of beauty. A recyclable aluminium sheet was used to symbolise the flow of both water and hair. This sheet reflects the interior’s soft light, as might emanate from the surface of water, and fills the space with elegant curves. A further effect is that the aluminium’s flow changes according to the illumination, thus always providing an atmosphere suited to the surrounding area. This provides visitors with the experience of manifold atmospheres thanks to shifts in light throughout the day.
