Airstream® eStream Concept Travel Trailer

The eStream Concept Travel Trailer is based on an electric drivetrain developed in collaboration with ZF Friedrichshafen AG, which features two battery-powered electric motors that propel the travel trailer forward in tandem with the tow vehicle, reducing the tow vehicle’s fuel or energy consumption. In Mover mode, the eStream’s drivetrain can be remotely controlled via an iPad app so that the travel trailer can be manoeuvred in even the tightest spaces without the tow vehicle. The drivetrain’s batteries can be recharged via regenerative braking, the 900W solar roof, campground charging, and existing high-voltage DC-to-DC fast-charging stations. The high-voltage battery system provides 80kWh of power for travel and living. This enables the eStream to camp off-grid with many of the comforts of home for up to a week. The eStream enhances the camping experience even further by deploying a large number of digital capabilities. These include: voice assistance to access Airstream Customer Support, receive how-to content and troubleshooting resources; the Airstream Smart Control app, which allows owners to remotely control numerous onboard systems, including lighting and climate, as well as monitor important resources such as water and power; and 5G connectivity to support working remotely, entertainment and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. The travel trailer’s well-appointed, flexible interior space allows users to work and relax in comfort. It sleeps up to four people and has a full-size rear bed and a front dinette that converts into lounging or sleeping space. The flexible space in the travel trailer converts from a dining area to make a work-from- the-road office possible.
