99 Documents

This project represents a digital search for traces through time and illustrates the history of Austria using 99 selected documents from almost 1,200 years. Many original documents, which are all securely locked in the cabinets of the Austrian State Archive, were digitised and can be explored in high resolution. A clear representation was generated, which leads the viewer along an interesting and varied path through Austria’s history. Video sequences complete the multimedia experience and make this interactive tour of the historic premises as real as if visitors were really there and could hold the historical artefacts in their hands.
