618 Shanghai Street

618 Shanghai Street is an online interactive AR application that allows users to unveil the history behind a revitalisation project of a series of old buildings in Hong Kong. “Visitors” can thus playfully uncover stories behind the many architectural features remaining on each building. This can be experienced especially in “Bird Street”, a landmark in its time that was demolished 30 years ago. It can now be revived by an artistic rendition on users’ mobile phones through the use of AR technology. Users are encouraged to share their discoveries among friends on social media.
