007 ELEMENTS

Zurück Download

The objective of the “007 ELEMENTS” installation was to add an extended dimension to the world of film and at the same time develop a new typology for cinematic experience. This comprehensive concept was brought to life more than 3,000 metres above sea level at the peak of Gaislachkogl Mountain, high above the town of Sölden in Austria, where some of the key scenes in the film “Spectre” were shot and which are projected in a huge cinematic installation of more than 1,300 sqm. This cinematic installation guides visitors through a series of nine galleries and an outdoor plaza featuring stunning panoramas, dramatic soundscapes and interactive content. The spatial design was conceived as an integral element of the visitors’ journey, aiming to add depth and authenticity to the experience. The conceptual approach is also a direct reference to the legacy of cinematography, forcing perspectives wherever possible in order to turn every visitor’s point of view into the camera itself.

Begründung der Jury

This cinematic installation creates a new value and conserves both the location and the moment of the recording permanently for people. The resulting vastness and structure enable a special kind of participation. The depicted space turns into a wonderful, unknown no man’s land. This project creates an openness that transcends itself and thus embodies a new possibility in design.
