Interview with TONYMOLY Design Lab

Red Dot: How would you define good communication design?
TONYMOLY Design Lab: Design that allows the creator’s intention to convey not only visions but also emotions to people, to give attention and help to human beings, animals, the environment (earth), and social issues, and to spread good goals or actions.

What makes your work unique?
First, I think my major in art makes my work unique. Then there is the design experience I have gained through various corporate marketing activities for companies in distribution, manufacturing, broadcasting and through K-POP appearances, both online and offline.

What intention do you pursue with your award-winning works?
I hope that the award-winning works will gain more exposure through the award. Above all, in addition to internal opinions on the evaluation of the design of the projects with the members of the design team, I wanted to learn through the award various evaluations based on assessments from experts – and my aim was to be a designer, not just an office worker.

Which three terms best describe your award-winning project?
For the first time in the industry, to realise sustainable consumption and to minimise environmental damage with understated beauty.

Was your award-winning work inspired by current social issues?
The Wonder Vegan Label Ceramide Mochi Toner is a product designed by recognising the problems of environmental damage and plastic use, which are currently a social issue.
