This 3D computer animation translates the ancient Chinese myth of the demon catcher Zhong Kui into a present setting. In this version, a criminal is the demon that is brought down. The film aims to continue and preserve Taiwanese tradition while, at the same time, communicate the deeper meaning of the myth, which is that a guilty conscience needs no accuser. The animation presents the content with dark images and at a fast narrative speed, which is reinforced by the background music.
