Public Installation
Wheels of Life
Designed for the opening of Alva Hotel by Royal in Hong Kong, the primary purpose of this art installation has been to promote the importance of upcycling. It is composed of 88 used bicycle wheels collected from the local community. All wheels were set in grid within an oval plan, supported by steel pipes of various heights and rotated at different angles. This resulted in a colourful, leaf-like surface floating with lightness and harmonising with the surrounding greenery. LED tubes installed on the wheels turn the whole installation into an eye-catching sculpture at night.
