War No More – Poster Poem by Peter Bankov

“War No More” is a series of posters to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. These posters are a graphic tribute to those who suffered during the war and, at the same time, a memorial for younger generations. Fragments of war-time poems are combined with modern illustrations to create poster art. The illustrations are fresco-style portraits drawn with gouache and show faces inspired by war-time poems and the artist’s childhood memories of veterans. The inscriptions were painted with a hand-crafted typeface.
