The exterior casing of the Vienna postbox is also its door element. As it completely encloses the interior and becomes smaller towards the wall like a truncated pyramid, the casing is as watertight as possible. A light tug on the upper edge of the door releases the drop slot. A spring mechanism returns the door to its original position. This innovative concept ensures the post is secure and is the reason behind this minimalist style.
