Twelve Main Meridians
A total of twelve meridian systems are at the heart of Chinese medicine. These systems are presented in the three books “The Day”, “The Noon”, and “The Night”. The books are bound with thin strings and copper eyelets, symbolising the fine network formed by these meridians. The whole series provides an introduction to the background and treatment of different acupuncture points with the aim of helping the readers to help themselves. The idea behind the illustrations stems from the decorative patterns on ancient Greek clay pots and murals. These are combined with the characteristics of ancient Chinese characters.
