Touchi

Touchi uses visual, tactile, and kinaesthetic methods to perform auditory training. It increases the child’s attention to hearing, makes full use of the residual hearing and continues to stimulate auditory nerves. It also improves abilities of expression and communication, thus accelerating the child’s adaptation to the world of sound. Through Touchi, a child experiences multi-sensory fun through a strengthening of connection to the sound. The musical toy presents three major elements of sound: pitch, rhythm, and volume. The user internalises the music while playing. The goal is to support children with hearing impairment by allowing them to feel other aspects of sound and understand the world of sound; hearing is assisted subject to the degree of damage. Touchi minimises the difference in learning progress between this child and ordinary children. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Childhood
