Tools of the Trade

The aim of this project was to come up with a simple but recognisable image following the keywords “tools of the trade”. The editorial illustration presents an outstanding example found in nature. Beavers are hard-working animals which cut down, shape and transport branches in order to build dams and lodges. By depicting the industrious rodents, the illustration copes with the task in a consistent way while exceeding the human scale and referring to larger contexts of the ecosystem.
