The Classic of Herbal of Shennong

Classic Chinese texts inspired this series of posters. Excerpts from the historical books “The Classic of Tea” on tea-making and tea culture, and “The Classic of Herbal” on herbalism and medicine were used as central elements. The design experiments with these well-known texts. The characters appear to flow into natural shapes reminiscent of blossoms and leaves. In this way they create their own new imagery. The words blend with the portrayals of nature to create a visually harmonious whole.
