Seisesthesia

返回 Download

Accidents during railway maintenance happen when maintenance staff are not able to obtain accurate information about approaching trains. Seisesthesia can be fixed to railway tracks to detect the vibration of an approaching train. When a train is approaching, a sensor under track activates the alarm, which warns the staff with lights and sounds that intensify as the train gains proximity. Since sound propagates through metal faster than through air, Seisesthesia gives maintenance staff ample time to forecast and react to oncoming danger. It can also be used as a working flashlight.
