Sculpture in Motion 2.0 – The Helio Curve
“Sculpture in Motion” is a collaborative project by the Hyundai Motor Company that aims to connect artists with the public by bringing to life the company’s design philosophy of “Fluidic Sculpture”. The actual exhibition in 2015, “The Helio Curve” by American kinetic artist Reuben Margolin, assumes the form of a continuously moving and living organism that never repeats, thus demonstrating how movement can take tangible forms while still retaining its natural energy and motion. The sculptures feature a complex and mathematical design of 400 wooden blocks that create a wave over three metres high, which ebbs and flows.
