Paper Story

This book is dedicated to Taiwanese traditional papermaking, since the knowledge of the craft is gradually being forgotten. All elements of the book, including the cover, are made of carefully selected papers handmade using various Taiwanese endemic plants, such as orange day lily and silver grass. Since local papermakers apply different special techniques, each piece of paper represents a particular Taiwanese landscape. Accordingly, the book’s content covers the entire range of traditional local paper manufacturing. One chapter visualises the various plants used in the process, while a second chapter presents the fascinating landscapes through illustrations and vivid photographs.
