Maximilian Schell
This exhibition presents the actor Maximilian Schell as an artist and Renaissance man. With its panoramic view, the stylised log cabin on the Schell mountain estate in Preitenegg, Austria, forms the pivotal point in the exhibition’s central axis. Thanks to a 360-degree photo shown on seven monitors, the hut acts as a juxtaposition to the glamour of Schell’s Hollywood career, symbolised by the Oscar he won for “Judgment at Nuremberg”. The exhibition is structured using the stylistic device of collage, as it also defines the life and film work of Schell himself.
