Mangkhut Project

返回 Download

In September 2018, parts of South East Asia were hit by typhoon Mangostan, which left in its wake a huge mess, including mountains of broken tree branches. The Mangkhut project seeks to commemorate this natural disaster in the megacity of Shenzhen and at the same time appeal to people’s environmental awareness. Some of the scrap wood from these branches was used to create attractive benches to form new seating areas in public places and encourage conversation and reflection. The brand design reflects the subject matter of the project by integrating an illustrated tree trunk into the lettering. Key visuals explain the project in the same graphical style.
