Line is a popular global messenger app that has 150 million users worldwide in over 230 countries (May 2013). The brand mark consists of a minimal word mark and a friendly-looking speech bubble. In order to communicate in a fun and clever way, Line has developed unique characters that help express emotions through emoticons, instead of having to type the words. It has become a distinctive function. The brand’s point colour is neon green, which contains a brand personality as healthy and potential. Its minimal design and distinctive sense of humour appeal to users, making the brand appear friendly and convenient.
