The book “kurzkurzlang” (shortshortlong) tells the history of telegraphy and invites children on a journey into the past. It covers events related to the invention and the laying of the first transatlantic cables, all the way to the similarities between telegraphy and the modern Internet, which are described in the final chapter. The book uses design principles of the 19th century: Victorian colours, slab serif typography and black-and-white drawings. Adopting the form of infographics, the latter have the function to explain and, as illustrations, they convey history in a playful way.
