House on the Cliff

返回 Download

The steep gradient of the terrain and the desire to arrange all the rooms on one level meant that this house made use of a three-dimensional structure consisting of reinforced concrete elements in order to adapt to the local topography. The swimming pool is located on a lower level where the site is almost flat. The concrete structure has an outer insulation layer and is rendered with flexible, smooth white stucco, a colour that was also used for all other materials. They follow and highlight local traditional architecture, while at the same emphasising the uniform appearance of the house.

The harsh landscape and the monolithic, apparently floating concrete building appear in contrast and yet related. The building expresses the peace and serenity of the region.
