“Es wird Nacht im Berlin der wilden Zwanziger” (Night falls on the Berlin of the Roaring Twenties) is a book about the golden age of Berlin. Using the example of major artists and writers, but also theatre actors, movie stars, directors, and other movers and shakers, the book tells of the triumphs of the arts during a time of technological and societal innovation, social contrast and political unrest. With hand-drawn typography, the book is illustrated and designed in the style of illuminated advertising, billboards, old movies and movie posters. Furthermore, it translates musical and cinematic elements into the print medium which is the book.
