Electric Air HVAC System

Electric Air developed an all-electric heat pump system with HEPA filtration, including a condenser, air handler, humidifier, wall-mounted air conditioner, and thermostat. BLOND was tasked with creating an industrial design language to transform this traditionally visually unappealing product typology. BLOND aimed to captivate a diverse customer base by developing a rational yet progressive aesthetic with enduring appeal. This design language heightens homeowner interest and introduces Electric Air’s innovative product to a wider audience. The progressive yet familiar design ensures visual longevity and sustainability. The products subtly reflect their functions, with minimal detailing for seamless integration both indoors and outdoors. The condenser boasts a robust aesthetic suitable for outdoor use, being modular and adaptable to various weather conditions. The four modules exhibit a warm, minimal design with soft curves and monochromatic panelling, elevated by contrasting matt, gloss, and textured surfaces. This warm minimalism extends to the thermostat UI, featuring bold, rounded shapes, an impactful typeface, and a contrasting colour palette for a seamless, intuitive user experience.
