Ebb and Flow
The intertidal zone in Taiwan is divided into several terrains with different ecologies and vegetation that provide habitats for creatures, all of which change with the sea level. This project focuses on low and high tide, and presents the change of the shoreline, its various layers during the intertidal period and the biological features in an illustrated book, on posters and in a calendar whose design is inspired by the waxing and waning moon. Colours are used to make this natural cycle come alive visually: grey represents the intertidal zone, blue the sea and orange the vitality of the tidal zone.
