Changsha Insun International Cinema
Film directors once used a megaphone to communicate with the actors and the crew on set. Therefore, the interior of the Changsha Insun International Cinema in Changsha takes this iconic symbol as its leitmotif. The typical, funnelled shape of the megaphone is reflected in the lobby’s seating furniture, in the auditorium’s light features and in the bathrooms’ washbasins. The visual concept is taken further by the use of grey paint for the walls and the ceiling, which makes the room seem to be sculpted out of stone. The striking orange accent colour serves as a local reference to the Orange Island on the Xiang River in Changsha.
