BlackYak is an outdoor brand currently undergoing various changes. The mis-Sion and values of the brand were analysed in order to meet challenges such as the main target group getting older and the need to open up new markets. Three aspects that epitomise the brand were identified: authenticity as symbolised by the mountain panorama, the tough nature of the yak, and a technology-oriented corporate culture. Based on this, a new brand design was developed that reinforced the core values of the brand and, in combination with high-contrast colours, successfully revitalised the company’s image.
