Air Filled Radiator

Oil filled radiators have been popular in households for half a century. Usually, each radiator is filled with 3 litres of heat conduction oil and scrapped in 5 years because of oil leakage. The leaked oil cannot be recycled and since all organic heat-conducting oils bring pollution to the environment, the Air Filled Radiator addresses this problem by using helium as a heat-conducting medium instead. It also uses highly heat-conductive aluminium instead of iron fins, which reduces the weight by half and makes all the materials in the radiator recyclable. The radiator is a closed metal container incorporated with a meshed heating element within to efficiently heat the helium. The heated helium convects inside the container and heats up to a uniform temperature. On the outer wall of the metal container, an aluminium fin is installed. With its excellent heat-conducting characteristics, the aluminium quickly transfers the heat from the container to the air outside, thereby increasing the indoor temperature of a space. The traditional oil-filled radiator contains carcinogenic substances and is mixed with metal containers, making it difficult to recycle harmlessly. For sustainable development of the earth, countries have been formulating stricter waste disposal regulations. This also means that the waste disposal cost of oil-filled radiator will become higher. As such, radiators that are air-filled will become the new development trend in the heater industry. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Domestic Aid
