Air Bag Hook

Many recreational anglers who fish purely for enjoyment may release their catches. However, fishhooks are usually available in hard and sharp stainless steel material that penetrates the fish’s mouth, and sometimes causing the fish to die from infection. As an alternative, the Air Bag Hook provides a more ethical way to fish. Air Bag Hook is composed of three components – the airbag, sensor and air generating system. When a fish bites the hook, the pressure of the bite hits a detonator and triggers the airbag to inflate instantly to cushion the hook’s contact with the fish. The design of the hook also minimises pain for the fish when the hook is removed from the fish’s mouth. After a successful catch, the airbag can be adjusted by opening the upper end. The hook can now be taken out. Before the improvement of conventional fish hooks, cutting one’s hand from handling the hook is also common. The improved Air Bag Hook minimises such injuries.
