A Brain Detector For Little Children With Amblyopia
The amblyopia (lazy eye) electroencephalogram (EEG) detector can detect the degree of amblyopia in children easily and nondestructively within 6 minutes, providing an effective and direct means for early screening of the visual disorder. The device has four integrated components: eye tracker, virtual reality glasses, EEG signal recording platform, and data analysis and management system. Upon wearing the device, patients are visually stimulated by being placed in a virtual reality scene. The eye tracker follows the position of the patient’s eye movements in real-time, while the EEG signal recording platform gathers the visually triggered EEG signals, which are synchronised with an online database.
This allows patients and doctors to access and share data and information anytime and anywhere. As it monitors and tracks the patient’s condition, doctors can provide timely and effective diagnosis and treatment programs remotely, while affording time and cost savings for patients, who no longer need to attend a series of physical appointments during treatment.
