Red Dot in Berlin – awarding ceremony, exhibition and after-show party honour the winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016
On 4 November 2016, the time will have finally arrived for the Red Dot Gala in Berlin where communication designers and marketing professionals will be honoured for their extraordinary achievements in design. At the Konzerthaus Berlin, the best of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design will receive their trophies. However, participants will be kept on tenterhooks to the end, as it is only during the awarding ceremony that the winners of the highest individual distinction of a category, the Red Dot: Grand Prix, will be announced. This is also when the winner of the Red Dot: Junior Prize is made known. Every year, this award is given to the most promising up-and-coming designer along with a prize of 10,000 Euros.
Presentation of the honorary titles agency and brand of the year
The gala is a particular highlight for winners of the honorary titles. In the presence of 1,400 international guests, representatives of the Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2016, Serviceplan, will receive the Stylus trophy. They are Florian Haller (Chief Executive Officer of the Serviceplan Group) and Alexander Schill (Chief Creative Officer). The winner of the Red Dot: Brand of the Year 2016 will also be honoured on the stage of the Konzerthaus Berlin. The award for the strongest brand of the year goes to a company that has impressed the Red Dot jury with its highly innovative designs for a number of entries, regardless of whether the expertise came from external agencies or in-house resources.
Designers’ Night and winners’ exhibition
After the Red Dot Gala, the competition winners will be suitably celebrated at the Designers’ Night, the official after-show party in Berlin’s E-Werk. At the same time, the venue will host the winners’ exhibition “Design on Stage”. This exclusive presentation of all the award-winning projects of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 will be on view for one night only.
Exhibition in the Museum for Communication Berlin
As of 6 November, visitors to the Museum for Communication Berlin will be able to view the projects that were awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best or Red Dot: Grand Prix in “Best Communication Design – Red Dot Winners Selection 2016”. What is more, the exhibition will also contain the projects of the Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2016.
