Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2016 – Call for entries to begin 1 January 2016

All calendars are already marked for 1 January 2016, with the New Year serving as launch date for the search of the best new product ideas, concepts, prototypes and ready to launch products. The award is open to all entries of concepts and ready to launch products from designers, design teams, companies, studios and universities from all over the world.

It can be said that the Red Dot Award: Design Concept is the launch pad for new product ideas, concepts and prototypes. The winning design concepts will not be revealed to the public and press until they debut as winners at the awarding ceremony. This knowledge presents the jury a heavy responsibility when searching for the best for the year.

The jury of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept evaluates the submitted entries purely on design merit and not by who submits the entries. Therefore, whether as an individual, a group, a company or studio, whether as an up-and-comer or a veteran, winning a Red Dot amounts to winning at the highest level in the design industry.

In 2015, at its 10th year anniversary, the award received 4,680 entries from 61 countries, and honoured 228 concepts with “Red Dot “awards, 40 with the Red Dot: Best of the Best and 69 concepts credited with an Honourable Mention. On 1 January 2016, the official call for entries will begin for the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2016.
