Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 - participation period is fixed
The participation period for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 is fixed. On 29 February the creative competition will start into a new year. Once again, communication designers, marketing experts and young talents are invited to enter their best projects and campaigns. Until 5 April 2016 the Early Bird registration period offers to take part in the competition at preferential conditions. The Regular phase starts on 6 April. The Latecomer period is the last chance to take part in this year’s Red Dot Award: Communication Design and runs from 13 May to 10 June 2016.
For decades now, the Red Dot Design Award has provided a platform where designers can measure themselves against the top names in the industry. In 2015 alone, Red Dot received more than 17,000 applications from 70 countries. This makes the competition, which comprises the three categories Product Design, Design Concept and Communication Design, one of the world’s largest design competitions.
The Red Dot Award: Communication Design, known as the “Deutscher Preis für Kommunikationsdesign” (German Prize for Communication Design) until 2001, is hosted annually by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and is geared to all creative minds, from agencies, design offices and freelancers to companies with strong communication campaigns. In addition to the awards, the agencies also have the chance of winning the title of honour Red Dot: Agency of the Year, while the companies with the strongest communication campaigns could be in with a chance of becoming the Red Dot: Brand of the Year.
The Red Dot Award: Communication Design also provides a platform for up-and-coming designers – the Red Dot: Junior Award. Everyone participating in the Red Dot: Junior Award has the same chance as every other participant for his work to be awarded with the Red Dot or the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The participant with the most convincing project of the competition’s year furthermore receives the “Red Dot: Junior Prize”, EUR 10,000 to launch their career as well as special mention in Red Dot exhibitions and press releases.
