Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 - the best of the year of the creative industry have been chosen

The results of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 are now available. The international Red Dot jury has chosen the best entries of the year from a total of 7.451 submissions. There were in total 17 categories in which designers, agencies and companies could submit their projects. From these, the panel of experts gave awards for the newest designs and campaigns. This year, the jury awarded 569 projects with a Red Dot. All the winners will be delighted to have the chance to use the globally recognized quality label to spread the word of their success with Red Dot around the world in their marketing communications.

“The creative industries are experiencing a period of growth. Ever new trends in digital communications, but also in event and print, lead to greater diversity and create new specialty areas,” says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award. “Based on its international expertise and evaluation of the Red Dot Award: Communication 2015, our jury can confirm this trend, not least because of the new record number of entries and a noticeable increase in quality. Their achievements show that the winners can go beyond the industry standards. That has secured them one of the most renowned hallmarks of quality which will help them to communicate their success to the world: the Red Dot”.

This year, the Red Dot jury was pleased to welcome to its ranks additional members with special qualities: Damon Aval, 2012 Red Dot: Junior Prize winner was appointed to the 27-strong panel of experts for the first time. After periods at Scholz & Friends, Heimat Berlin and Jung von Matt, the young designer is at present Senior Art Director at the recently founded Berlin agency antoni GmbH. Another new jury member was the Swiss advertiser Frank Bodin, Chairman and CEO of Havas Worldwide Switzerland.  The games experts also received some support this year. Gaming luminary Eric Zimmermann from the USA helped in choosing the newest trends in this sector.

This year, the wide range of categories, stretching from Corporate Design and Apps through to Social Responsibility, offered the participants numerous opportunities to demonstrate their talent. However, it is not easy to convince the international panel of experts. Thus, the Red Dot jury only awarded the sought-after Red Dot: Best of the Best - the recognition of the highest level of design quality - 82 times. But that is not the end of the excitement for the prize winners. They will have to wait until the Red Dot Gala on 6 November in the Konzerthaus Berlin, to learn who among the 82 candidates has won the highest single distinction in the whole competition - the Red Dot: Grand Prix. The up and coming young designers will also get their dose of excitement.  Surrounded by the glamorous atmosphere of the capital city, one of these talented youngsters will win the Red Dot: Junior Prize, with prize money of 10,000 Euros. The sponsor this year is the software company Adobe.

After the glittering Red Dot Gala, big names in the international creative scene come together in Berlin’s E-Werk to celebrate this year’s prize winners in the legendary Designers’ Night.  At the same time, in the midst of the Berlin party atmosphere, the award-winning works of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 will be on view in the “Design on Stage” exhibition. In addition, all the Red Dot winners will appear in the International Yearbook Communication Design 2015/2016 and in the online presentation. As part of Red Dot on Tour, the award-winning projects will be exhibited in the world’s design metropolises. Red Dot will give the winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 visibility across the globe from Essen via Berlin, Xiamen and Taipei to Singapore.
