IFA 2015: guest lecture by Professor Dr Peter Zec Keynote at LG Display keynote
From 4 until 9 September 2015, the IFA or “Internationale Funkausstellung” will take place in Berlin, Germany. The IFA is one of the oldest industrial fairs in the world, and leading trade fair for consumer and home electronics. In 2014, the trade fair registered 1,538 international exhibitors and more than 240,000 visitors, among them 140.350 professional visitors.
In 2015 again, the IFA is presenting the latest trends from all sectors of the industry such as Ultra-HD screens, home cinema sound in three dimensions and innovative software platforms for intelligent interconnection. Further topics are sensors for fitness and health, confectionery or fashion from the 3D printer, and music from wireless networks.
The opening keynote at IFA 2015 will be held by LG Display CEO and President Sang-Beom Han. Dr Han is an outstanding IT expert with more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and display sectors. In his keynote, the LG Display CEO will ask what comes "next" after current displays such as 4K and curved screens.
During the LG Display keynote, Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot, will speak about the fundamental interdependence between design and material relating to the new OLED technology. Using examples of LG products which successfully implemented the OLED technique so far, the design expert will discuss the question of what constitutes good design and which role the Red Dot Design Award occupies.
