Designs for home cinema experience
In the cold and rainy season, TV and film nights in one’s own four walls become a trend. Because in autumn the need for ease and comfort rises. In the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 successful manufacturers already have acknowledged the idea of a home cinema experience. Also in the category “Living rooms and bedrooms” the awarded products combine high design quality with modern comfort.
The “Duas” fire place from Ganz is characterised by its simple but elegant form and innovative fuel technology that combines both quick heat dissipation and long-lasting heat storage. The large surface of angled glass provides a free view to the flickering fire. The Red Dot jury praises besides formal independence and high functionality also its energy efficiency.
The armchair “OMO Modern” including a footstool consists of a solid foam core that provides stability without any additional frame or heavy material. The furniture pinches at no point. “This organic armchair together with its footstool blend an aesthetic appeal with sophisticated seating comfort”, is the conclusion of the Red Dot jury on the Red Dot winner.
The “4K ultra short throw projector” by Sony can be placed only a few inches from the wall of choice and provides in this way a great spatial flexibility. Due to the ultra-short throw technology a razor-sharp picture up to 147 inches large can be projected. The elegant design with its functional details, for example the integrated speakers, convinced the Red Dot jury: in 2015, the projector was honoured with the highest single distinction “Red Dot: Best of the Best”.
An equivalent alternative is the flexible “77EG9900 4K OLED TV” from LG. The 77 inch large TV can be adjusted to the viewers individual needs. This adaptation is also comfortably possible by remote control. “The slim, purist and perfectly implemented form of the device is an enhancement to almost any interior environment”, states the Red Dot jury on the Red Dot: Best of the Best winner.
