Best Chinese design: Award ceremony for Taiwan Interior Design Award
The Taiwan Interior Design Award (TID Award) has called for young and senior designers among Chinese speaking countries like Taiwan, China and Hong Kong to submit their projects in the renowned design competition. In 2015, the TID Award received 606 projects. Together with Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot, the Italian architect, Professor Marco Casamonti and Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto judged the works submitted. In order to respond to the diversity in a professional manner, the product categories comprises “Public Space”, “Working Space”, “Commercial Space” and “Residential Space”. The two new categories “Exhibitions Space” and “Jury Award” allowed for a discerning evaluation process.
On 24 April, the sought-after award, the TID Gold Award, was announced. On this occasion, representatives from academic fields, industries and government celebrated the best works of the year. During the ceremony, keynotes were held on the TID Award and its relationship towards Taipei as the World Design Capital 2016.
From 9 to 14 May 2015, the TID Award Exhibition will take place at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park and will provide a platform for designers to measure their creativity and innovation potential. The general public is invited to experience the unique Eastern aesthetics of living space. The exhibition will also be touring around Taiwanese campuses.
