Vertescale

During a child’s prime period of growth from age 7 to 12, early stage abnormal spinal growth is usually invisible without professional equipment. Spinal conditions also require continuous monitoring to prevent further spinal abnormalities. Vertescale is a baropodometer designed for spinal condition analysis and rehabilitation at home. Taking the form of a scale, Vertescale has 64 embedded pressure-sensing detection points and an internal AI algorithm that generates medical-level reports. Based on the data collected by the sensors, the AI algorithm will create a simulated 3D spinal condition map and a straightforward report of the spinal condition. The AI will also recommend a personalised correctional physical therapy programme for the user. The way a person distributes weight to their feet can reflect the changes caused by postural misalignment. As a result, by analysing foot pressure, it is possible to determine the user’s spinal condition. Dual base plates on the baropodometer guide the feet to the correct distance apart for the best detection results. Vertescale makes daily spinal condition analysis simple and intuitive for everyone.
